In response to an Autodesk brief on future engineering education in AEC, our UH team conducted futures research and translated insights into design futures artifacts and an experiential futures session. We created a prospective student orientation experience set 10 years in the future.

The CDC engaged the University of Houston for a strategic foresight project exploring the future of evidence. We worked with the CDC's strategy office, bringing them into active collaboration on the futures methodology so they could both explore the domain and disseminate their learning to extend the approach into their ongoing work.

Working with an external agency team, I conducted horizon scanning and developed change drivers and scenarios to inform strategic planning for new ambulatory care facilities at MD Anderson.

I built and led a design team at USAA focused on advice, retirement income, and wealth management products. My work spanned design direction, user research, and experience strategy while managing team development and stakeholder relationships across the matrixed enterprise. I led the experience design team that created the omni-channel experience for Patrón’s “Cocktail Lab.” The Cocktail Lab supports the brand by education around the use of various Patron products, through curated recipes, personalized recommendations and education. In addition to consistently boosting engagement for the brand, this work won an OMMA award, and was featured in a Forrester Wave report.

The JnJ Customer Connect application was redesigned to meet real user needs by smoothing and simplifying transactions in a B2B setting, and required research with global stakeholders to ensure gain inputs from markets in North America, EMEA and APAC.
The EIFU work increased access and ease of use for medical equipment reference manuals for surgical personnel.

Our team did contextual research in 3 markets to identify needs to drive the second iteration of the Sleep IQ app, which introduced both a redesign and ‘family’ functionality to the service to support a new children’s product. This work won an innovation award at CES in 2015

I contributed significantly to the definition of the Nike Football app, which had two-fold functionality: Messaging and location-based services to help soccer players find more games, and an exclusive channel for early product releases for “sneakerheads.” This project required navigating a complex creative environment that included AKQA and HUGE King/Coyle. The app was released on iOS and Android for the 2014 World Cup and heavily leveraged by Nike marketing and athletes for the global event.

One of my first projects after pivoting out of exhibit design and into UX was the redesign of the prescription benefits experience for a Fortune 10 company.
We worked with a complicated stockholder environment comprised of our studio, and both CVS and BCG.

My major contributions at the Shedd were design of key elements of the Polar Play Zone Children's exhibit, the service model and orientation space for the beluga encounter experience, and landscape and habitat elements in the oceanarium remodel (a $50M project.) I also designed the Jellies exhibit, one of the most highly rated experiences over the past decade.
